DESCRIPTION

A great way to explore a downtown area is on foot. And the best way to discover the must-see places of a city is to have a competent local guide.

So come and discover Nice la belle (Nissa la bella), as the people of Nice say.

It is one of the most visited cities in France, a title deserved since the city has a very particular history and geography which makes it a superb city both culturally and visually.

Once a Greek trading post and then a Gallo-Roman city, the city was once the only maritime gateway to the States of Savoy. Nice was then part of the Piedmont-Sardinia kingdom until 1860, so the Nice region was one of the last to join France.

There is also the very Mediterranean culinary culture mainly inspired by Provence and Italy. You certainly know the famous salad niçoise (without potato attention) or the pan bagnat, but do not worry there are many other specialties niçoises to discover.

We will of course visit the unavoidable Old Nice with its narrow and colored streets, its small baroque churches, its sumptuous palaces, its countless bars and restaurants, without forgetting its art galleries, since Nice is a city of art and history registered with the Unesco world heritage since July 2021.

Of course we will not miss the French Copacabana, the Promenade des Anglais, a large maritime boulevard whose image is known worldwide. It is the very symbol of Nice.

We will go up to the hill of the castle, ideally placed at the seaside. This space offers a garden which is the favorite park of the inhabitants of Nice and the tourists, its shaded alleys and its multiple points of view allow to discover exceptional panoramas on the bay of the angels, the city, the hills of Nice and the Pre-Alps.

ITINERARY

To begin the visit we will meet at the Mobilbaord Nice agency, located at 2 rue Halévy.

We will dive directly into the famous old Nice to go to the most popular street of the historical center, the Cours Saleya and its famous flower market with its many colors and its magnificent palace of the prefecture.

Then we will go deeper into the Old Nice to discover its central square and its famous Sainte Réparate cathedral and the delicious ice cream shops that surround it.

And of course a visit to Nice cannot be done without passing by the Promenade des Anglais where we will stop at the #I Love Nice.

Then we'll go up to the hill of the castle to discover a superb park where we'll be able to refresh ourselves after our little climb.

On this hill, cradle of the history of Nice, I will show you the magnificent panoramas of the city.

Then we will go back down to the Saint-François square with its famous fish market.

To finish we will go to the emblematic Place Garibaldi passing by the narrow and colored streets of the old Nice where we will finish our visit.
