Gyropods can be hard to get your head around. Introduced to the public as the Segway in 2001, it was renamed the Gyropod in 2008, to distinguish between the brand and the device. Dean Kamen is the inventor of this revolutionary EDPM motorized personal mobility device, which enables users to move around in complete freedom; it's a two-wheeled parallel vehicle with a platform on which the driver stands. It's intuitive to drive, with no need for handles or pedals to accelerate!

Last but not least, the Segway ® (a US product) is a gyropod with a technological redundancy that is unique on the market. In other words, all the components that ensure proper stability and traction are doubled.
