Some of our activities are accessible to you thanks to a seated adaptation on an all-terrain Segway. So, “taking a walk in the woods to see if the wolf is there” is no longer just a nursery rhyme for people who use wheelchairs—it becomes a reality with Mobilboard!
This means you can enjoy our tours with family and friends on trails that would otherwise be inaccessible to you. Equipped with all-terrain wheels, you can easily navigate over protruding roots, branches, rocks, pebbles, sandy sections, and paved roads. Depending on the route, you can also navigate both uphill and downhill slopes with ease. Finally, you can experience the thrill of speed that your wheelchair (even an electric one) simply can’t provide.
This adapted Segway is equipped with front and rear kickstands for safe transfers from your regular wheelchair to the Segway. The rest of the operation is identical to a standard Segway, controlled by leaning your torso forward or backward. The low, removable handlebar (for transfers) allows you to steer the Segway from left to right and right to left, as well as turn 360° in place! Extremely maneuverable and responsive, the Segway reacts instantly to movements of your torso and an arm.
After your welcome and introductory instructions in French Sign Language (LSF), you’ll set off on a ride with a Segway equipped for the instant transcription of instructions and commentary along the way. This equipment is available for all our tours and activities.
