Did you say Segway ®?
Gyropods can be hard to get your head around.
Introduced to the public in the USA as the Segway in 2001, it was renamed the Gyropod in 2008, to distinguish the brand from the device. Dean Kamen is the creator of this revolutionary invention, which enables users to move around in complete freedom.
It's a two-wheeled vehicle with a platform on which the driver stands, and it's intuitive to drive - no need for handles or pedals to accelerate or brake, just the position of the body.
In France, this machine is listed in the Highway Code as Motorized Personal Mobility Equipment(MPME).
Last but not least, the Segway ® (US product obligatory) is the gyropod with a technological redundancy that is unique on the market. In other words, all the elements that ensure correct operation of stability and traction are at least doubled, ensuring perfect, permanent stability in all situations.
Although much more expensive than some other brands of gyropods, we've chosen to use the Segway ® gyropod, the real thing, the original and the safest on the market. If you're going to try out a gyropod, you might as well do it in the safest possible conditions with this professional equipment, because more than 22 years later, the Segway ® remains the "reference" on the market.
