Cycling around the lake: the Mobilboard practical guide
Strong points

A loop of around 40 km
The complete tour of the lake is around 39 to 42 km, depending on the variant.
It generally takes :
- 2h30 to 3h non-stop
- more like 4 to 5 hours with swimming, photo or lunch breaks
An almost continuous cycle path
On the map, there are several different types of route:
- Voie verte / secure cycle path
- Around 3km of shared road, near Menthon-Saint-Bernard
- Areas of more pronounced relief
Which way to go?
Although the tour of the lake can be done in either direction, at Mobilboard Annecy, we generally advise you to set off counter-clockwise from the agency.
What's in it for us?
- Spectacular mountain views all the way from Annecy to Doussard, passing through Saint Jorioz and Duingt.
- Less traffic on the cycle path
- An easy return with a descent for the last 10 km
Please note that between Talloires and Menthon-Saint-Bernard, there's an uphill section that's easy to negotiate thanks to the electric bike's assistance.
For conventional bikes, you'll need to allow for around 15 minutes of hard climbing, which you'll soon forget thanks to the last 10 kilometers of downhill riding.
The best spots to discover on a tour of the lake
Even if the tour of the lake is already magnificent from start to finish, there are a few places that really deserve a break.
Panoramas on the Talloires side, the Château de Duingt, nature spots on the Bout-du-Lac... there are plenty of little "wow" moments to experience along the way.

Where to swim around the lake?
In summer, it's THE great pleasure to ride around the lake: put down the bike, take off your shoes and dive into the clear water.
Put your towels down on the most beautiful beaches around the lake, accessible directly from the cycle path.

A restaurant break with your feet in the water
Pedaling all day takes its toll! What could be better than lunch by the water, facing the mountain?
Around the lake, you'll find some lovely terraces and a few unmissable addresses that will restore your strength:

In the event of a minor breakdown: where to get your bike repaired?
Even on such a pleasant outing, a puncture or minor mechanical problem can happen.
Don't worry: there are several workshops and repair points all around the lake, just in case you need a helping hand.
To avoid searching too far with a bike that refuses to move, our practical guide is here: https: //blog.mobilboard.com/ateliers-de-reparation-velo-autour-du-lac-dannecy/
Feel like a walk?
Get off your bike, close the lock and set off to discover certain corners in a different way... on foot.
A short stroll in the Bout-du-Lac reserve, a trail above Talloires or a quiet loop in Duingt...
