A city with a long maritime tradition—as evidenced by its ports, marinas, fishing industry, and commerce—La Rochelle offers many facets, including an exceptional waterfront!

This fun and scenic route will let you discover one of its most beautiful areas, located just outside the city center, with its remarkable views.

Part of the walk also follows the entrance channel to the Old Port, both on the way there and back, offering a splendid view of La Rochelle’s towers.

After passing by the Port des Minimes, the walk takes you to the Minimes neighborhood in southern La Rochelle, with its sandy beach and headland, offering a breathtaking panorama of the Bout du Monde Lighthouse, the islands of Aix and Oléron, and even Fort Boyard if the weather permits… a real feast for the eyes!

On the way back, this tour will take you through the south-facing Parc des Pères, which overlooks the sea and offers a lovely view of the beaches of Aytré and Angoulins.
